Aerospace, defence and security company, METIS Aerospace Ltd, have relocated to new premises, due to its rapid expansion over the last 6 months.
Currently employing 10 staff, the move to the University of Lincoln’s Charlotte Scott Building will allow the team to expand to 14 over the next few months as it introduces new products and services to the market.
The company began trading in November 2013 and was set up by Directors, Tony Burnell and Jem Waring. Having gained very niche experience whilst serving in the RAF, the company started out by providing technical support to military organisations and their prime contractors. However, in 2014 the company embarked on an R&D programme to develop its innovative signals intelligence system – HYPERION, which has lead to the workforce increasing from 6 to 10 over the last 6 months.
Chief Executive, Tony Burnell said “the development of our HYPERION and our new UAV Detection System has gained significant interest, both at home and abroad. This move not only provides us with the space we need to expand and speed up development, it provides us with the unique opportunity to work closely with the University on our R&D projects”.
