METIS Aerospace flys high with new un-manned aerial service

METIS Aerospace flys high with new un-manned aerial service 1 Mar 2019

Lincoln based Aerospace, Defence and Security company, METIS Aerospace Ltd, has launched its latest service offering – METIS UAV Services. Employing a team of highly qualified and experienced drone pilots, the company can fulfil a variety of aerial support needs, from aerial photography and surveying large construction sites through to industrial chimney inspections.

METIS uses state of the art technology, both in terms of hardware and software, providing customers with the best possible solution. The company is also working on projects to develop UAV based sensors and technologies that can support a range of Emergency Service support needs relating to Search and Rescue.

This is a field that the company – with its civil protection background is keen to explore. DJI, a leading UAV producer, recently published an article confirming that early search and rescue tests had found that a properly-equipped drone can find a missing person in a one-square-kilometer area within 20 minutes, more than five times faster than traditional methods.

Tony Burnell, CEO of METIS Aerospace said “Instead of committing valuable resources to training and purchasing equipment that can quickly become obsolete, clients can take advantage of our expertise and technology safe in the knowledge that we will be using the most recent, proven, equipment on their projects, resulting in the best possible outcomes”.

This knowledge is something that the company is happy to share. Over the last few months, METIS has engaged with both Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue and Lincolnshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, demonstrating the benefits of employing drone technology within operations, both in terms of monetary value and improved results.
