Adrian Dorr

Adrian qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1991 and completed an MBA in 2006. Since then, he has had a career in senior financial roles with a variety of organisations including Plessey, McKechnie, Siemens, Nuffield Hospitals and more recently, as Finance Director of a SME in the Automotive sector.  Adrian is a Principal with the FD Centre, the leading provider of portfolio Finance Directors in the UK and globally, and works with METIS Aerospace as an advisor to the board.

Helen Hives

Prior to graduating in Law in 2003, Helen gained valuable experience in procurement, mainly within the engineering and commercial airline sectors – the latter for Ryanair. Thereafter, she specialised in Intellectual Property law advising on brand protection and representing major clients in high-value Intellectual Property disputes and negotiating settlement agreements. Combining her extensive commercial experience with her legal acumen, Helen oversees all aspects of METIS’s business, from operational matters to the contractual, adeptly balancing the need for commercial pragmatism with the importance of minimising legal risk.  Helen strongly believes that true success can only be achieved by recognising and bringing forth the best in everyone!

Alex Cruickshanks

Alex is responsible for the design, development and integration of radio frequency (RF) elements of the SKYPERION and HYPERION Sensors. This includes, defining processes and procedures for RF engineering tasks, designing, developing and testing systems, and working with the software team to develop, build and test prototypes.

Lee Carter

On achieving a First-Class BSc (Hons) degree in Computing, Lee joined the Ministry of Defence as a Civilian Scientist.  After devoting several years to the Electronic Warfare Avionics Detachment, Lee left the MOD to work for a market leader in voice and data recording where he was a key member of the original team responsible for developing the company’s flagship voice recording platform.  Lee brings to the METIS Aerospace team many years of experience in developing the highest quality software and delivering products to customers that exceed expectations.

Richard Hands

Richard is a Project Manager and test specialist with a vast experience of test and evaluation and managing projects in the RAF. He is currently managing our Innovate UK and MIDAS projects and working with many external clients to bring the projects to fruition.

Andy Smith

Andy joined the METIS team in Dec 2020 having amassed a wealth of experience over a 40 yr RAF career. An Airborne Electronic Warfare Specialist by profession (Nimrod MR2 and Nimrod R1), and an Aerosystems graduate (MSc with Commendation), he has undertaken numerous operational and support roles, including airborne mission crew duties, Test and Evaluation Trial Management Officer duties, RF Signals Analysis, EW Operational Support, HQ Staff and MOD appointments.
