About the Role
Metis is growing and we are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Procurement and Supply Chain Manager. You will develop the processes and procedures to implement and lead our sourcing, purchasing, inventory, logistics and supplier management activities.
This role is central to our future success. You will drive cost savings, maintain strong supplier relationships, and support operational excellence. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will develop effective procurement strategies and ensure a reliable end-to-end supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement and Strategic Sourcing
• Develop and implement procurement strategy
• Source, evaluate and select suppliers in the interests of the business and industry standards
• Negotiate contracts to ensure the best commercial terms
• Conduct supplier performance reviews
Supply Chain Management
• Instigate and oversee end-to-end supply chain
• Ensure inventory levels align with demand
• Manage demand planning and forecasting processes
• Risk management and mitigations to ensure continuity in supply
Cost Control and Performance Improvement
• Identification of cost-efficiencies
• KPI management and reporting
• Continuous improvement
Engagement
• Communication across internal and external elements
• Relationship building across your area of responsibility
• Mentoring and development of all involved in the supply chain process
• Regular reporting and communication of opportunities / blockers
Essential Experience & Skills
• Proven experience in Procurement and Supply Chain management
• Demonstrable experience in supplier sourcing, contract negotiation and performance monitoring / management
• Full understanding of inventory management, forecasting and logistics
• Commercially astute
• Able to communicate effectively to both internal and external stakeholders
• CIPS Qualified.
• Must be a UK resident and, due to the nature of this role, applicants must be eligible to undergo Security Clearance.
Desirable Experience & Skills
• Recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement or related discipline
• Experience in a manufacturing / production enterprise
