Metis appoints Ben Hewitt as Head of Sales and Marketing

Metis, specialists in providing innovative technologies to detect a wide range of Radio Frequency (RF) threats across diverse sectors, is pleased to announce that Ben Hewitt will be starting as their Head of Sales and Marketing on the 1st August 2025. Ben has over 17 years’ experience in high-tempo international, strategic and operational environments having had a successful career in the Royal Air Force (RAF) and held significant roles in the Counter Uncrewed Air Systems (C-UAS) commercial sector.

Ben had a successful career in the RAF which followed a traditional path of command and staff appointments in various headquarters and then specialised in the understanding, design and implementation of C-UAS strategies to enhance operational effectiveness and increase force protection for the RAF. With this deep understanding of emerging technology, market trends and increasing C-UAS threat profile, Ben was a natural choice to become the campaign manager for Leonardo. Ben spent three years working with military and civilian experts to support capability development and primarily promote “Falcon Shield” (Leonardo’s C-UAS system). Falcon Shield has been successfully adopted by 4 NATO MODs and has been used to protect vulnerable infrastructure, strategic locations and national events globally from the threat posed by unregulated drones. Since then, he expanded his experience as a sales manager for Operational Solutions Ltd delivering adaptive security solutions to help protect high-value, risk-prone areas by integrating innovative technologies designed to manage both aerial and ground threats.
